In order to use these custom symbols you need two things: Notepad and a Custom .cfg file.

You may skip step 2 if you already know how to make a custom .cfg file

To make a custom .cfg file you simply open Gore SE, go to the Player Options and scroll down to Save Config (see the 1st image below). Now give your .cfg file a name (as you see in the 2nd image below, it is saved as “cow”) and then click Save. This will save all of your game settings and any custom binds (such as say binds).

 [Show as slideshow]

Now to add the custom symbols to your config file. To start look at the 3rd image below and choose what symbols you want to use (whether it be for a say bind or for your game name). If you notice, there are numbers above some of the symbols. Each number represents one of the symbols, for example the skull and crossbones is 0172.

Before doing the next step open Notepad and make sure “word wrap” is off or it may mess up your file.

Now go into your \Program Files\Gore Special Edition\settings folder and you will find your saved .cfg file (whatever you named it). Open it with Notepad and now let’s say you want to add symbols to your name. For example lets say you want to add the UMC Wings (0184 and 0185). You would scroll down to your name, hold down the ALT Key and then type in those numbers (using the NUMPAD!).

 [Show as slideshow]

A few things:

Again you can use these for your game name or add them to say binds. Also the color codes work on them as well. There are no numbers to the euro symbols, but to figure out what number they are you would simply count left from the star (0165). For example the odd looking f would be: 0158, etc.. Also, you may have to go into the player options again and this time go to the LOAD CONFIG to load your .cfg file.

Administrating a clanwar can be tough if you haven’t done it before. Also, there are some rules to follow.

To log-in as Administrator you have to open the console and type in:
login PASSWORD
(PASSWORD stands for whatever the password is)
If you fail typing it in correctly 3 times, you will automatically be booted.

Console
Bind the console to a key. Because you will need it plenty of times during a Clanwar.
I use the useless F1 Key that pops up some help window by default.
bind x:[console]

Basic Admin Console Commands
endround (Instantly ends and restarts the current round)
map MAPNAME (Change to the desired map. Example: map Border)
users (allows you to see the player’s IP’s and Number you need for booting)
boot # (# stands for the number infront of the playername when you type in users. Example: boot 12)
ban IP (IP stands for the player’s IP, when you type in users. Example: ban 85.142.132.32)
force_team_balance 0 or 1 (If 0 then the Teams won’t be balanced, if 1 then the Teams will be balanced)

Endround
This is the command that you will use the most during a Clanwar.
Only use it while the Player_Wait_Time is counting down. Or right after the first players have spawned.
Don’t use it right in the middle of a round. Everyone will be like WTF and complain.
It’s to end and restart the current round.
Use it in the beginning of every new Map, so that all players spawn at the exact same time – which makes it fair for everyone.
Use it when someone has accidentially picked the wrong Team.
Use it when someone has accidentially picked a restricted Player Class.

map MAPNAME
You can use this command only in the very first round of a Map. Otherwise it will screw up the round counting.
Gore always keeps the amount of played rounds in mind.
The standardized TACT game has 5 rounds.
If you use the “map”-Command in the 2nd round to switch to another Map, then this Map will only have 3 rounds.
If you use the “map”-Command in the 3rd round to switch to another Map, then this Map will only have 2 rounds.
The solution to fix this “bug” while it’s “active”:

Solution to fix the “Round-Count” bug
Tell everyone that the further rounds of the current map do not count or tell everyone to commit suicide, to get to the next map as fast as possible.

Boot/Ban
It happens from time to time that someone screams out the Serverpassword in a Public Server or that someone figures out an easy password.
In that case, if this player is not supposed to play in the Clanwar, first ban, then boot – to make sure that he can’t rejoin.

Force_team_balance 0
In a Clanwar force_team_balance should always be set to 0.
This allows everyone to pick the Playerclass without delay –> The rounds start faster.
Example: In the case of a 8vs8 Clanwar, a lot of people will most likely connect slower than others.
Now 3 players are already in MOB, and 2 are in UMC. If force_team_balance is set to 1, then no-one can join MOB, because you have to wait until someone has chosen UMC.
You have to click a couple of times until finally someone has joined UMC.
With force_team_balance 0, it allows every player to pick the Playerclass at the first click. Because Gore doesn’t try to balance the Teams in this case.

Please post here if you got anything to add to this.

You all probably know what a flashmob is.

Since the Gore League will start soon and there will be little time to play big matches or Friendly Meetings or whatever, Acromus decided to create flashMOB.

http://goreland.net/flashmob

It’s basically small events where you can participate by wearing the ^1[F] tag. Everyone can join at every given time. Most flashMOBs will occur randomly and others will be organized with a set date and time. Most are small challenges which don’t necessarily require skill, but luck.
You can win medals, awards and money (points basically) to climb up in the flashMOB ladder (chronicles).

This blog post explains it a bit better:
http://goreland.net/flashmob/2011/01/16/welcome-to-the-flashmob-headquarters
And here are the rules in detail:
http://goreland.net/flashmob/rules

It’s really simple. All you have to do is put on the ^1[F] tag when a challenge is being called out on the server. Then you’re automatically participating.

The events can happen at any date and time, but only the leaders are allowed to organize them.

The flashMOB site:
http://goreland.net/flashmob

In stock 1.60.19 the UMC Sniper has stronger Snipergun shots than the Assassin, the UMC Mediums Riotgun is weaker than the Ingrams and it’s gas is almost useless. The fall damage of the Heavies is higher than the fall damage of other player classes. The Chick and Sniper are weaker against rockets

This mod balanced UMC and MOB perfectly, by making every player class equally strong

Mediums: MOB has Ingrams, UMC has Riotgun, but both weapons shoot exactly the same (same damage, same fire mode)

Heavy: When falling from a building you suffer the same damage as a Medium

Sniper: MOB has Assassin Rifle, UMC has Sniper Rifle, but both do the same damage now, 40 instead of 30 ammo, resistance against rockets/explosives is the same as the Medium

Chick: Healing Gun primary now heals both Health and Stamina, secondary shots a heal grenade (like in Gore Retail), resistance against rockets/explosives is the same as the Medium

Nothing has really changed in this mod gamplay wise. The strengths haven’t been change. Merely the weaknesses have been adjusted to the overpowered strength of the others.

This is the same MOD as you can play it on the |||GR.Sentenced Server

assassin.god, bartender.god, hplayer.god, lplayer.god, mfplayer.god, mplayer.god, player.god and scout.god go in the Gore Special Edition/models/players/PLAYERNAME folders
effects.god, explosions.god and weapons.god go in the Gore Main Folder (for example C:/Programs/Gore Special Edition)
